Abstract

An experiment was conducted with thirty two Bach Thao goats with average initial weight 15.3 kg at 4 months of age. The experimental design was a completely randomized block of 4 treatments (fresh cassava leaf, jackfruit leaf, dry cassava leaf, and Guinea grass) given as supplements to a basal diet of chopped cassava stems.  The experiment lasted 84 days.

Live weight gain was improved  by 76% and DM feed conversion by 33% when fresh cassava leaves were compared with sun-dried leaves (Figures 1 and 2).

Key words: Bach Thao, cassava leaf, cassava hay, jackfruit leaf, growth rate, Guinea grass
