A total of 108 Egyptian  laying hens at 30 weeks of age (initial body weight of 1.39-1.44 kg/hen) were allocated at random with 6 dietary treatments and 3 replicates to evaluate the effects of mung bean offal on on laying and reproductive performance . The experimental diets were formulated in such a way that there was a stepwise replacement of protein of soybean meal and maize with mung bean offal: 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%.

There were no differences among treatments (P>0.05) on feed  intake , survival rate (86.5- 97.11%), rate of lay (67.21 – 67.58%), egg weight (42.74- 44.72 g/egg) and quality of eggs.

Mung bean offal can be used as cheap protein in the diets of Egyptian hens..
