This paper describes the history, present status, incentives and future development of biodigesters in Vietnam. According to the Statistical Book (2007), there were many kind of wastes from animal husbandry and agricultural production factories for environmental treating and biogas production. The plastic film biodigester on small farms has had good impact because of the low cost, simplicity of construction and operation. In the long run the market opportunity in the biogas program and CDM promoters would become more concentration on high density polyethylene (HDPE) biodigesters for big farms and agricultural production factories.
