Regional seminar workshop on
Sustainable Livestock based Agriculture in the Lower Mekong Basin

  Objectives:

  • Review of progress of the third and fourth years of activities of the regional research cooperation on Sustainable Livestock based Agriculture in the Lower Mekong Basin – MEKARN programme, funded by the Swedish International Development Agency

  • Presentation of results of experiments aimed at improving the sustainability of livestock-based farming systems in Cambodia, Lao, Thailand and Vietnam

  •  To provide an opportunity for young researchers in the region to present their finding at a regional seminar workshop and to exchange experiences with invited national and international scientists

 
       
 

1 February 2005

 Dr Preston and Dr Hieu visit all participating institutions (other than in Thailand) to help with analysis and interpretation of research results and preparation of abstracts and power point presentations.

Decision regarding the programme  made during the Mekarn SC meeting

 
 

23-35 May 2005

Participants hand the final written papers and Power Point presentations to Dr Preston for preparation of CDROM disks and  posting on Mekarn web page. Copies of the CD ROM disks will be given  to all participants at the end of the seminar.
