Abstract

PCR technique with two specific primer pairs HB1, HB2 and HS1, HS2 was used for typing Pasteurella multocida. Among 7 national reference strains (4I, I2, IR 43, 99, 483, 8936) only strain IR (type B Iran) showed specific PCR pattern as type B.

Most of isolated strains of Pasteurella multocida from Central and Northern part of Vietnam (27/28) have specific PCR pattern as type B.

The technique with specific primer pair TOX1, TOX2 was also used for detection of toxigenic P.multocida. From 35 tested strains (7 national reference strains and 28 isolated strains) only strain 99 showed specific PCR pattern as toxigenic P. multocida.

The Western blot technique was applied for determining  of P. multocida strains as IR, 99 and 483.
