The studies were carried out during 2006 at the Center for Livestock and Agriculture Development (CelAgrid-UTA Cambodia), Kandal district, and in the districts of Phnom Krovagn and Trang, in Pousat and Takeo provinces, respectively.

The studies are part of the requirement for the Master of Science degree in "Sustainable Livestock Systems", awarded by the Department of Animal Nutrition and Management, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and were made possible through the financial support of the Swedish International Development Agency, Department for Research Cooperation (Sida-SAREC).
