Acknowledgements

The present experiment is part of a study on the use of cassava foliage as a feed and natural anthelmintic source for goats. It was partially supported by the MEKARN project, financed by the SIDA-SAREC Agency, and the regional project “Development and Testing of an Integrated Approach to the Control of Gastro-Intestinal Parasites of Small Ruminants in South and South East Asia (TAG 433)".

The author would like to acknowledge having had access to the Ecological Farm, of the University of Tropical Agriculture Foundation, with all the experimental facilities. I am also highly appreciative of the advice and help received from Dr. Preston and MSc Lylian Rodriguez in the overall direction of the experiment and the thesis.

Gratitude is expressed to Dr Julio Ly, visiting scientist, for his advice and help with the editing of the paper.

I am very grateful for the efficient support of Dr Hanne Hansen, who helped greatly in providing literature; also my thanks are due to Daniel and Gina who supplied key information support.

I whish to thank Prof. Klaus Becker, MSc. Khieu Borin, Dr. Somkiat Saithanoo, Dr. Douglas Gray and Dr. Sorn San who have been giving me good advice and discussing the idea to support this research thesis.

Special thanks are extended to Kin Mengse for all support and encouragement within my past experimental research up to now.   Many thanks are also extended to the staff and volunteer students who have been working for UTA during the first 5 years in Cambodia.

I would like to express my warm regard and grateful thanks to all the classmates in this regional project from the four countries for sharing their friendship, giving fun and making the available condition to study over 6 moths around the region. Thank to the organizers of the overall course and organizers in each country (UAF, HUAF, NIAH, KKU, PSU, NAFRI and UTA) where the course has taken place especially the lecturers who made an effort to run this course successfully.

However, this work would not have been accomplished successfully without the support from my own family. Therefore I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to my parents, my sisters and brother and also my uncle, Ung Bihap, my aunt, Tann Bunny as well as all my cousins.
